Domaine René Cacheux et Fils is a hidden gem, consisting of just 3.26 hectares. The Domaine is headed by Gerald Cacheux, the fourth generation steward and he retains his father's name as an homage to heritage of this small producer. The site for this wine is a lieu-dit practically on the boarder of Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges. These are old vines and they produce around only a thousand bottles per harvest! The wine is a testament to this passion and you'll find it has a focus on purity and a judicious use of new oak.
Taurus Buyer, Rachel Gibson, 'Excellent. Approachable and exciting aromatics with bright red fruit, but still a seriousness about it, a depth of fruit and some wonderful complexity in the savoury flavour profile that is so often missing from wines at this level.'
Please note prices are in-bond and exclude VAT at 20% and Duty (£2.80 per bottle), which are payable when the wines land, estimated in May 2025.
