Picpoul de Pinet
75cl * 13% ABV * Languedoc, France
Local legend says that Picpoul vines need to have their 'head in the wind and their feet in the water', which is why you’ll find the majority of plantings along the Bassin de Thau - an exposed saltwater lagoon near Montpellier in the Languedoc.
Bursting with sharp citrus and crunchy minerality, full of orange blossom, white peach and lemon citrus with mouth watering acidity and a refreshing finish. This Picpoul is superb with seafood and white fish, especially when fried in batter or breadcrumbs including salt cod croquettes and tapas style small plates.
Wine geek fact: Mare Nostrum (Latin for 'Our Sea') was a Roman name for the Mediterranean Sea!
