Sauvignon Blanc
75cl * Vegan * 13.0% ABV * Loire Valley, France
The Ladoucette family have been producing wines for over 600 years from their 165 hectare estate of Chateau du Nozet in Pouilly-Fume, and are recognised for producing some of the world's finest Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley in France. Under the watchful eye of Patrick de Ladoucette who took over the family’s wine operation in 1972 at the tender age of 20, the world-wide demand for these wines make him one of the most influential wine makers in the Loire.
From the highly regarded De Ladoucette estate and named for the original owner, the Comte Lafond, who purchased the property in the late 1700s, this wine is the epitome of Sancerre. The flint, gravel and limestone soils yield a mineral character to the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Grapes picked from vineyard blocks are vinified separately and then blended together for best balance with no oak ageing.
Expressive green fruit and a steely character are underpinned by wonderful acidity. There is an attractive, slightly herbaceous nose with integrated peach and citrus fruit. The palate is complex, silky texture with a festival of citrus and tropical flavours under pinned with minerality and plenty of freshness and a super long finish.
Pair with meaty, oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, swordfish, monkfish and tuna.
