Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot
75cl * 13.5% ABV * Yarra Valley, Australia
The Yarra Yering Vineyards was established in 1969 by academic Dr Bailey Carrodus. His first vintage was in 1973 and for 35 years he made his wines to great critical and commercial success. He lived by the philosophy, 'If it doesn't work, tip it out and start again' - he did just that with his entire production one vintage. If it wasn't the best, he wouldn't sell it.
The Dry Red Wine No. 1 is a Claret-style blend on which the estate's reputation is built and has become one of the most collectible Australian wines. Its dense blackcurrant develops extraordinarily exotic, gamey nuances over time.

98 Points, James Halliday 2020 Wine Companion “This is the serious side 17. The aromas and flavours are still fresh and vibrant but the palate, in particular, brooks no argument. This is a wine for protracted cellaring to allow the whipcord-tight structure to relax its grip.”
97 points, James Suckling “This is complex and very rich with sliced berries, spices and flowers throughout. Full-bodied. Very soft and fine tannins on the palate. Long and flavorful finish. Extremely balanced and refined.”
