Domaine Belleville was created at the beginning of the 20th century in the heart of Burgundy and in 2018 the property was bought by an enterprising American family. At a recent tasting, the winemaker took us through all 20 (!) wines he makes - his philosophy is simple and quite unusual: from 20 vineyard plots, he makes 20 different wines. Lithe, complex Puligny, showing a subtle, well-balanced lees character and a gentle round mouthfeel. Stone fruit combine with something that reminds us of good-quality cream (no, really).
Will age well in the short term. Drinking now - 2028+.
