Owned by the Sichel family since 1961, Angludet is situated at the heart of the prestigious appellation of Margaux and surrounded by Cru Classé properties, including Angludet's sister vineyard, the more famous Château Palmer. La Dame d’Angludet is the new name given to the second wine from Château Angludet, renamed as a sincere tribute to the women who have contributed directly or indirectly to the history of Chateau Angludet dating from the 12th century.

The chateau is in the process of Biodynamic certification, allowing the vines to build up their own defence to ward off attacks from fungus, parasites and even climate extremes. While the vines are young, they are able to yield more fruit, more rapidly than the older vines. Consequently, La Dame d’Angludet offers the best quality for price in the entire Margaux appellation, offering dazzling aromatic expression and gentle extract, which is sustained yet delicate.

La Dame d’Angludet is aged for 12 months with 50% in barrels (30% new French oak) and 50% in amphorae. In the winery, after some very decisive trials carried out in 2018 with four amphorae, Benjamin Sichel decided to switch over half of the maturation to amphorae as of 2019, hoping to contribute to preserving purity, clarity and aromatic delicacy of the wines. Finesse, elegance and complexity are the watchwords of the 2019 vintage. Beautifully balanced, combining purity and structure, the wine displays great capacity to age well for a number of years. The 2019 is a beautiful illustration of the Angludet style, generous and the perfect partner to food.
