2018 has been hailed as a great vintage, some say the best since 2015, other since 1990 and some even go as far as to hail 2018 as the best vintage since 1947! Be the judge of that for yourselves but what we can say is that 2018 was perfect. There was excellent weather throughout the growing season, which produced concentrated reds with deep colours and tannins that are incredibly supple.
Selected from several climats throughout the Beaune Premier Cru areas. By doing this the winemakers can produce an exquisite blend, with wonderfully integrated tannins and acidity. The blend boasts the best that Pinot Noir from Beaune has to offer, a gorgeous red fruit character, minerality and a delicate savoury finish.
Pair with any grilled meats. Classic French stews and, of course, with boeuf bourguignon but the delicate nature of this Pinot is best suited to a local cheese, something like Abbaye de Citeaux or maybe a more local cheese like an aged Golden Cross from Sussex.
