At Tenuta di Collosorbo most of the work in the vineyards is done by hand and the smell of wine and wood apparently blend harmoniously in the cellar. The wine itself is made by Giovanna Ciacci, along with her daughters Lucia and Laura, and alongside wonderful olive oil from the centuries old estate too.
The 2019 vintage for Brunello is getting the wine world very excited - and if you're interested in reading the full vintage report, you can do so here. In brief, it's up there with 2010, 2015 and 2016.
This Brunello from Collosorbo is obtained from the meticulous selection of Sangiovese grapes from the estate’s best vineyards. It is the product of diligent and thorough fieldwork and of focused operations in the wine cellar, which preserve the essence of the Sangiovese grape.
Eric Guido, Vinous Media: 'The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino opens with a bouquet that blends savoury herbs and worn leather with crushed wild berries. It's softly textured and round, with a pretty inner sweetness and juicy red fruits cascading under rosy inner florals. The 2019 tapers off long and gently tannic, as a bump of residual acidity maintains an energetic feel.'
